Noodlehead Makers Tote | Featuring Prairie by Lori Holt

Have you made a project, hated it, vowed to never make it again, and then make it again eventually? Well that’s the relationship I have with the Noodlehead Makers Tote.

Prairie Fabric by Lori Holt

The fabrics I used in this bag were provided to me from the amazing folks at Riley Blake Designs. This is the new Prairie collection by Lori Holt. The cheater print I used for the exterior is my absolute favorite, the little chuck wagon and cross stitch Home Sweet Home are just too perfect.

Anna of Noodlehead writes wonderful patterns. I’ve made the Makers Tote pattern once before, and I remember that I hated it. I even threw the bag across the room at one point in time. ๐Ÿ™ˆ Now, when I think back to that event, it was most likely because I was 9 months pregnant, and full of uncomfortable rage.

This time around making the Noodlehead Makers Tote felt like a walk in the park, mostly ๐Ÿ˜‰. If you’re on the fence about making it, then I would recommend not making it as your first bag ever. There are several more intermediate tasks involved that I feel are for a more seasoned maker.

Makers Tote Construction

Making the pattern this time around wasn’t easy, but it was a much more enjoyable experience. I love a good challenge, especially when I haven’t sewn in a while and that Makers Tote is just that. It’s easy enough to not make me angry but intricate enough to force me to slow down and take my time.

I needed to order zippers because I didn’t have one the was the right color or size in my stash. This pack from Amazon ended up being perfect. I love the large ring on the zipper pull & the color selection is super cute.
