My version of the Moda Modern Building Blocks quilt is my most recent UFO project finish. This project started back in 2014 as a Block of the Month through a quilt shop called I Don’t Do Dishes. Unfortunately, that shop is no longer in business.
The Moda Modern Building Blocks quilt itself is a pattern booklet made by Moda Fabrics. It features blocks that range in size from 6″ to 36″. This is a fantastic skill builder project for myself as I was still learning how to quilt.

Like many UFOs, this project became a quilt top relatively quickly back in 2015. Then it sat in the ever growing pile of quilt tops waiting to be quilted. This quilt is big, finishing at 84″ X 96″ so quilting it myself was out of my league.
Thankfully I have my friend Sam who owns a longarm. She quilted this amazing “S” Thing pantograph on the quilt, and she has since said she’ll never do this panto again. 😅
I absolutely love this quilt and I’m even more excited about it being crossed of my UFO list.
