Spring Clean Your Studio Blog Hop

Hey y’all! Today is my stop on the Spring Clean Your Studio Blog Hop hosted by Cheryl of Muppin.com. If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know I’m a pretty chaotic crafter/quilter/sewist. I like to make a big mess while making projects, and sometimes the mess gets out of control. ๐Ÿ˜…

I’ve been working in this space for a little over a year, we moved in January of 2021, and I recently switched up a few things to make it feel more open and be a better workspace. As you can see in the after photo below, not only is it clean ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ, but I also pulled out that corner desk.

It was a great desk for my previous space, but in this room it just did not work and it made my cutting area feel very cramped. Thankfully Jeff is taking the corner desk for his 3D printer so nothing has gone to waste, and now I have a nice cozy corner for binding, cross stitch, knitting, and it is most frequently used by my youngest to come sit in my office while I work.

My cutting table is currently home to two works in progress, it’s the end of the school year which means teacher quilts need to get finished. My cutting table and mat are by Horn of America, I was gifted the table a few years ago after quilt festival. *The perk of living in Houston and being able to take home things that can’t be shipped back ๐Ÿ˜‰ * then last fall I bought the cutting mat to go with it.

Having a cutting mat the size of the table has been so amazing because I can literally use every single inch of the table for various projects. I love working on more than one project at once.

My trusty Janome is still going strong after 7 years and I currently sew on a solid wood table I picked up at IKEA. It was affordable and it doesn’t cause the machine to get bouncy when sewing fast.

And of course, you’ve gotta have a bunch of natural light and various tripods right next to the machine for taking photos and making Reels. If you have any questions about items you spotted in my space just drop a comment below, and happy stitching!
