Postage Stamp Star with Fat Quarter Shop

Happy Friday! Today I am excited to share with you my version of the new Postage Stamp Star pattern by Fat Quarter Shop!

What I love about this pattern is that you have the option to make a single block using the FREE block pattern, or you can buy the full pattern or kit to make the entire quilt! The single block finishes BIG at 18.5″ square so it’s the perfect opportunity to use some of your favorite fabrics.

I used Robert Kaufman Essex Linen in Nautical and Kona Cotton in White. I always love the contrast between the two textures, especially after quilting and washing.

I’m not gonna lie, this block is a bit tricky because you need to pay attention to your seam allowance while putting all the pieces together. You can see that there are several spots where things were a bit crinkly in my block prior to quilting. But I am happy to report that it quilted and washed out just fine. 😉

I chose to finish my 18″ square block into a throw pillow that I gifted to my mom for her birthday. For the quilting I used Aurifil Dove in 50wt and did a quick and simple half inch grid pattern.
