This post is long overdue. I have had this quilt finished since November of last year, I took pictures while on vacation in May, and now it’s the end of July and I finally have a post!
I knew as soon as I finished this quilt that I wanted to takes pictures of it in a cemetery. I just wasn’t sure where I would find an old cemetery in my area. So I jumped at the opportunity to haul it with me when I visited Philadelphia with my parents and brother.
The pattern for this quilt was from the Halloween Medallion Quilt Along hosted by Michael Ann Handmade. I loved sewing along and Mr. Bones turned out way cooler than I ever imagined. The quilting was a simple all over meander using Aurifil #2311 for the center panel, and Aurifil #4648 for the borders. William has claimed this quilt as his, and sleeps with it every night.
Quilt Stats:
Pattern – Halloween Medallion by Michael Ann Handmade
Fabric – Mr. Chillingsworth panel by Andover, various halloween fabrics by Blend Fabrics & Riley Blake
Thread – Pieced and quilted Aurifil 50wt
Quilting – Free motion meander with my Janome 8900
Size – Large throw roughly 60″x70″
A perfect photoshoot for Mr Bones! very chilling indeed!
