WIP Wednesday

One of my 25 before 25 goals is to finished 10 quilts. I know for some that’s not very many, but for me that is a lot! Since I am working towards that goal I have been trying to stay busy, but this past week hasn’t been very productive. I am however slowly but surely adding onto my WIP list

I still have this lovely thing that needs to be basted and quilted. I am so lost on how to quilt it. I think I might just do straight line quilting because I can’t think of anything else.

I’ve been sewing away on my Shining Stars BOM. I received the last kit at the beginning of August, and I am just now finishing my June blocks. But once I get those done, I can put together the quilt top (I did the months out of order).

The blue one is the 12.5″ block from August without the sashing, and the red one is the 12.5″ block from July with the sashing.

I am caught up on my Sisters Ten BOM and I can’t wait for next months blocks. I love how this is coming together and I am really happy with my fabric choice for this one. (I was worried it was too girly at first).

I’ve got all of my sashing and background fabric cut and ready to go, so when I get all the blocks done I can just keep sewing and get the top put together quickly. At least that’s my goal.

I’ve also joined up with the Marcelle Medallion QAL & The Countdown to Christmas QAL. I’m really excited about these 2 projects. I bought Liberty Love a couple weeks ago at the Austin Shop Hop and I have been dying to make the Marcelle Medallion. And I am excited about the Countdown to Christmas QAL because I have been wanting to make an Advent calender for a while now.

I’ve already got my fabric pulled for my Marcelle Medallion, and I just need to grab a charm pack for my Countdown to Christmas QAL.

So that’s what will be holding my attention for the next couple of weeks, plus I have a couple other projects waiting in the wings ๐Ÿ™‚

what a beautiful quilt top! Straight line quilting would look great, or another option would be to quilt in squares, with smaller squares echoing the blocks.

Thank you so much for sharing this at Needle and Thread Thursday!

Whatever you do, it's going to be a gorgeous quilt. Have you seen "31 days of free motion quilting"? There are lots of great ideas there.

So I'm wondering what the stats on your goal are? I'm just popping over from WIP and thought that was pretty cool…but then started thinking…that's a lot of quilts…so how old is she and how many has she done? how many will she do each year? =)

Your finished quilt looks awesome. I'm not the best at quilting ideals, so when I have something I really love, I take it to the LAQ…but that doesn't happen very often, because it's expensive. =) I'm sure it will look great with lines!

I love your finished quilt top. The colours are so fabulous – soft, fresh and modern.

Hi, I stopped over from the WIP Wednesday post. I love the colors in that quilt top and I think straight line quilting would work well. There's a lot going on already (in a good way!) and the straight lines would keep the focus on the fabric…IMHO, anyway. Can't wait to see it when it's done!

I think 25 might be the best age to aim for that kind of list, let's put it this way, it may be 5 years away, but I haven't got time to make enough quilts for my next big birthday milestone ;o)
