My brother and sister-in-law live in Downtown Houston with their son Jack. My brother is a High School Chemistry teacher and my sister-in-law is currently in Medical School. Their son Jack is only 5 weeks younger than William, so the two of them get along great together.
John and Sadie are members at the Houston Zoo and they had a free pass for one person, so a couple weeks ago my brother and I took our boys to the Houston Zoo and Ikea. FYI this post has a gazillion pictures ๐
William loved the petting zoo area. He loved the goats, even though he kept calling them cows ๐
Little Jack Jack was so hot and sweaty. I was worried about him at first, but my brother reassured me that he always gets sweaty like that when he’s outside. Plus we are in the middle of Houston, it’s so humid that you walk outside and feel like your swimming.
The ugliest duck/goose I have ever seen.
The boys loved the elephants. We stood there for proably 20 minutes or more!
So this Komodo Dragon that is 10ft long and weighs 150 pounds was sleeping when we walked over, but it perked up when William was by the glass. I think he thought it was feeding time lol That thing was twice William’s size.
We decided that it was time to go when the boys tried to climb the fence into the sea lion pool.
We ventured to Ikea because I am looking at getting some bookshelves and eventually a new couch. My brother and Sadie live relatively close so it wasn’t that bad of a drive. The boys loved climbing on all of the different couches.
He looked so happy in this chair I contemplated buying it… but then I remembered that we are broke and trying to save every little bit we have. Hooray for making responsible decisions!
I have to say I loved taking William to the Houston Zoo, even though it was a million degrees outside and I was sweating like a sinner in church. He loved it and I definitely want to go back again… when it isn’t so hot ๐
I feel like the zoo AND ikea makes for a pretty epic day!
I love IKEA! I imagine that was fun with two toddlers! ๐
